Celebrate the Earth!

Our 13th annual celebration of Earth Day & Arbor Day will be held on Sat. May 13th on the Dracut Historical Society grounds. This a free, fun, & educational event for the Dracut community. We'll have exhibits, demonstrations, hands-on activities & crafts, & lots of fun! Each year we giveaway tree saplings & compost + an item such as a reusable bag, mug, or in this year's case, wildflower seed paper shaped like the Earth.

Our goal is to raise awareness of environmental concerns, the importance of protecting & treasuring trees, nature, & wildlife, as well as ways to reduce one's impact on the environment such as recycling, composting, and reusing items in new ways. We plant a tree for residents to enjoy in a public space such as Veterans' Park, and we also help coordinate a Community Cleanup Week along with the DPW. Our event grows and gets better each year thanks to our community.

(This program is supported in part by a grant from the Dracut Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.)
